Our Structure

The WOC is a business association for ocean sustainability, with membership open to dues paying companies and industry associations that subscribe to the WOC Membership Commitment. WOC member working groups will convene around “platforms” to advance the WOC vision and mission through work on priority policy processes (e.g. Convention on Biological Diversity, Law of the Sea), issues (e.g. ocean noise, recycling of vessels/platforms) and regions of concern (e.g. Arctic, Mediterranean).

The WOC is registered in the US as a non-profit project under the Trust for Conservation Innovation (an IRS tax-exempt 501 c 3 organization). The WOC will become a non-profit non-governmental organization registered in the US and the UK in 2009.
