The WOC has been an active participant and the Industry Representative in the 4th and last BBNJ Preparatory Committee Meeting, taking place at the U.N. Headquarters in New York City, USA. The Meeting focused on the Development of an international legally binding instrument under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction (BBNJ).
