From 29 August to 9 September, the World Ocean Council has been the Industry Representative in the negotiations around the legally binding instrument on the conservation and sustainable use of marine life in areas beyond national jurisdiction, BBNJ. The U.N. Law of the Sea, BBNJ Preparatory Committee Meeting aims at the “Development of an international legally binding instrument under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction”.
