Sophie Masipa – Associate, Southern and East Africa

Sophie facilitates the development of WOC membership, strategic alliances and outreach in Southern and East Africa.

She is the Chairperson of Saldehco, a joint-venture established to build and operate South Africa’s first offshore supply base (OSSB) at the Port of Saldanha Bay, and the Co-Founder of Kgommu International, which develops and invests in infrastructure projects across the continent. She is also a Director at Africa Infrastructure Survey Systems (AISS), which focuses on surveying and analysis tools for the transport sector – rail, road and maritime infrastructure planning. She is passionate about African development as well as creating sustainable and livable coastal cities across the continent.

In 2018, Sophie was named one of the Top 100 Most Influential People of African Descent under 40 in the Diaspora under the Governance and Politics Category. In 2019, she was named a Crans Montana Forum New Leader for Tomorrow.
