Peter Fippinger – Associate, Middle East

Peter facilitates the development of WOC membership, strategic alliances, and outreach in Middle East.

He has been a strategic leader and policy advisor in ocean governance, marine policy, and biodiversity conservation for over 25 years, supporting government institutions, organizations, and collaborative programs spanning North America, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Pacific, and East Africa. His more recent pursuits include sustainable growth in the Blue Economy, floating solutions for climate resilience, and fostering innovation and investment into future-forward blue industries.

Peter is the Founder and General Manager for Blue Crescent Group Limited, leading its work with business, governments, and non-profit organizations. He has been a resident of the Middle East for over 14 years, previously holding leadership roles within government and private sector in United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His extensive experience and established network bring great value to clients and partners.

Prior to moving to the Middle East, Peter spent over 13 years in various roles supporting Legislative and Executive branches of the US Government and intergovernmental initiatives focused on oceans and climate science, public policy, and biodiversity conservation. Peter holds a MA in International Environmental Policy from Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California, and a BA in Biology from North Central College; And has received several awards for his career achievements, including the John A Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship.
